With a few simple things-milk, nuts, spices, and a little patience-you can whip up a refreshing glass of goodness in minutes.

    1. Masala Doodh

It’s rich, creamy, and packed with the goodness of nuts and spices. This drink isn’t just delicious; it’s packed with health benefits too! Turmeric fights inflammation, cardamom aids digestion, and saffron gives it that fancy, royal touch. Making it is super easy. Just heat up some Keventer Metro Milk, stir in crushed almonds, cashews, pistachios, and a pinch of saffron. Add a little turmeric for that golden glow and let everything simmer. The aroma of cardamom fills your kitchen, and in minutes, your comforting drink is ready. Pour it into a mug, curl up with a book, and enjoy this traditional treat.

    2. Lassi

It’s thick, creamy, and super refreshing, making it the perfect drink for hot days. There are two kinds-sweet and salty-and both are equally delicious. Sweet Lassi is blended with sugar, cardamom, and sometimes a splash of rosewater. Salty Lassi, on the other hand, is all about yoghurt, salt, roasted cumin, and a sprinkle of fresh mint.

To make a classic Sweet Lassi, blend thick yoghurt with chilled Keventer Metro Milk, sugar, and a dash of cardamom until it’s smooth and frothy. Pour it into a tall glass, top it with a few crushed pistachios, and enjoy! Want a fruitier version? Blend in some mango pulp for a delicious Mango Lassi. You can also mix yoghurt with salt, roasted cumin, and a bit of black salt for that extra punch. The next time you’re craving a nourishing homemade drink, don’t forget to buy fresh milk for the best results.

    3. Badam Milk

It is the perfect mix of taste and nutrition. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with almonds, making it both delicious and healthy. Making Badam Milk is easy, and you don’t need any fancy ingredients. The key is soaking the almonds first. Once the almonds are soft, peel them and blend them into a smooth paste. Now, heat up some fresh Keventer Metro Milk and stir in the almond paste. Add sugar, a pinch of cardamom for flavour, and saffron for a golden touch. Let it simmer for a few minutes until everything blends beautifully. You can enjoy Badam Milk hot during winter or serve it chilled in summer.

    4. Thandai

It’s festive, refreshing, and full of bold flavours. Thandai is made by blending milk with nuts, spices, and a touch of rosewater. It’s the perfect drink for hot summer afternoons when you need something cool and satisfying. Soak almonds, fennel seeds, cardamom, black pepper, and poppy seeds, then grind them into a paste. Stir this into chilled Keventer Metro Milk, add a bit of sugar, and finish with rosewater for a floral twist. Top it with slivered pistachios and a few saffron strands, and you’ve got yourself a royal treat. Want to make it extra fancy? Serve it in a clay cup for that authentic touch.

What makes these drinks special is their unique blend of ingredients. Spices such as cardamom, saffron, and turmeric don’t just add flavour; they bring warmth and health benefits too. Nuts such as almonds and pistachios give richness and energy. Unlike store-bought drinks loaded with preservatives, these homemade recipes offer pure, natural goodness. The secret to making these drinks taste even better? Always start with dairy fresh milk like Keventer Metro Milk. Its creamy texture and pure taste enhance every sip, making your homemade beverages even more delightful.

  • What to serve with Bengali mishti doi: Dessert pairing ideas

What to serve with Bengali mishti doi: Dessert pairing ideas

Bengali mishti doi is pure magic. Creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of sweetness, it melts in your mouth like a dream. But you know what’s even better? Pairing it with other delicious sweets!

Some pairings create exciting contrasts, while others double up on the indulgence. So, let’s talk about the best ways to enjoy mishti doi with other Bengali treats!

    1. Rosogolla

Rosogolla and mishti doi are a match made in heaven. Both are milky, but while mishti doi is thick and creamy, rosogolla is light and airy. The best part? The syrup from the rosogolla adds an extra layer of sweetness to the yoghurt. This pairing is the ultimate comfort food. You can eat them side by side, or get a little adventurous-squish the rosogolla, let the syrup mix into the mishti doi, and take a spoonful of the sweet, creamy, juicy goodness.

    2. Jalebi

Jalebi brings the crunch, mishti doi brings the creaminess. It’s the perfect sweet-and-tangy duo! The crisp edges of jalebi soak up the yoghurt beautifully, while the yoghurt tones down the extra sweetness of the syrup. Hot and cold, crispy and smooth-every bite is full of flavours. You can dip a warm jalebi into chilled mishti doi and take a bite. Let the yoghurt soften the jalebi slightly before you chew.

    3. Malpua

Malpua and mishti doi together? Now, that’s indulgence on another level. The deep-fried richness of malpua meets the cool, mellow taste of mishti doi, creating a perfect balance. The doi prevents the pairing from feeling too heavy, so you can eat more (and more). You can place a warm malpua on a plate and drizzle mishti doi over it. Let the yoghurt soak into malpua before taking a bite. Sprinkle some crushed pistachios for a crunchy finish!

    4. Patishapta

Patishapta, a soft, sweet crepe stuffed with coconut and jaggery, is rich but light, indulgent yet comforting, and every bite brings a rush of nostalgia. When you pair it with mishti doi, it’s a creamy delight! The mishti doi’s slight tang lifts the rich flavours, making each bite feel light and refreshing. Drizzle some mishti doi over a warm patishapta and let it soak in. You can also keep them separate and take alternating bites. Either way, you’ll keep coming back for more.

    5. Chanar jilipi

Think of jalebi, but softer and richer. That’s chanar jilipi! It has a mild, cheesy flavour that pairs perfectly with the caramel sweetness of mishti doi. The yoghurt balances the syrupy sweetness of the jilipi, making it a match that keeps you wanting “just one more bite.” Take a bite of warm chanar jilipi, then immediately follow it with a spoonful of chilled mishti doi. The way the flavours melt together will make your taste buds dance.

    6. Chocolate and mishti doi

You wouldn’t think chocolate and mishti doi would work together, but they do. The slight bitterness of dark chocolate brings out the deep caramel notes of the mishti doi. It’s a rich, smooth, and utterly luxurious combination. Sprinkle dark chocolate shavings over your mishti doi, or serve a piece of chocolate on the side. To get the best of these pairings-whether it’s rosogolla, jalebi, or malpua -pair them with Keventer Metro Doi. Its thick, smooth texture and perfect sweetness make every bite even more indulgent. Drizzle it over warm sweets, dip crispy treats, or simply enjoy it on its own.

What dips pair well with cheese chicken momos?

Cheese chicken momos taste amazing on their own. But a great dip makes them even better. The right sauce adds extra flavour and excitement to every bite. If you love momos, you need the perfect dip to go with them. Here, we share 5 fantastic dips that pair well with cheese chicken momos. Each one brings a unique twist to your favourite snack.

    1. Spicy schezwan sauce

Schezwan sauce is bold, spicy, and full of flavour. It has a mix of red chillies, garlic, and soy sauce. If you love heat, this dip is a must-try. The spice level depends on how much chilli you add. You can make it extra hot or keep it mild. It also has a slight tanginess that balances the spice. When you dip a cheese chicken momo into it, the result is pure magic. The cheese melts, the chicken stays juicy, and the spice kicks in perfectly. You can make this sauce at home with garlic, dried red chillies, soy sauce, and vinegar. Store it in a jar, and you have the perfect momo companion ready anytime.

    2. Classic momo chutney

Momo chutney is tangy, spicy, and full of fresh ingredients. This chutney has tomatoes, garlic, red chillies, and salt. The tomatoes add natural sweetness, while the chillies bring the heat. Garlic adds depth, making it rich and flavourful. Some people like adding sesame seeds for a nutty twist. Pairing this chutney with cheese chicken momos is a great idea. The freshness of tomatoes balances the richness of cheese. It enhances the taste without overpowering it. You can make it at home in minutes by blending roasted tomatoes, chillies, garlic, and salt.

    3. Garlic mayonnaise

If you love creamy dips, garlic mayo is perfect. It is smooth, rich, and mildly garlicky. This dip is less spicy than the others but just as tasty. Mayonnaise has a mild taste, making it a great match for cheese chicken momos. The garlic adds a slight punch, enhancing the overall flavour. The best part? You can tweak it easily. Add some black pepper for extra spice or a squeeze of lemon for tanginess. To make the sauce, just mix mayonnaise with minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. You will have a delicious dip ready in no time.

    4. Mint coriander chutney

It is light, fresh, and full of herbs. It has mint, coriander, green chillies, and lemon juice. This dip adds a refreshing contrast to cheesy, rich momos. The mint gives it a cooling effect, while the coriander adds a unique flavour. A squeeze of lemon juice makes it tangy, and green chillies bring a hint of spice. When you dip a cheese chicken momo into this, the freshness cuts through the richness, making it a balanced bite. This chutney is easy to make at home. Blend fresh mint leaves, coriander, green chillies, lemon juice, and salt. Some people add yoghurt to make it creamy. It is a great dip for those who love fresh, herby flavours.

    5. Sweet chilli sauce

Sweet chilli sauce is a great mix of sweetness and spice. It has red chillies, sugar, vinegar, and garlic. It is not too hot but has a nice kick. It complements the cheese and chicken in momos perfectly. Every bite gives you a mix of creamy, spicy, and sweet flavours. To make it at home, simmer red chillies, sugar, vinegar, and garlic until thick. Store it in a jar, and you have the perfect dip.

The beauty of these dips is their versatility. You can mix and match them depending on your mood. Craving something spicy? Go for Schezwan sauce. Want something mild? Garlic mayo is the way to go. Love a refreshing contrast? Mint coriander chutney will do the trick.

  • How do you prepare thick Bengali payesh using dairy product milk?

How do you prepare thick Bengali payesh using dairy product milk?

What’s the one dessert that brings a smile to everyone’s face? The quintessential Bengali dessert – Payesh! A creamy, rich, and flavourful delight, Payesh has a special place in every Bengali’s heart. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, or even an ordinary day when you feel like indulging, a bowl of thick Bengali Payesh is all you need to sweeten your soul.

If you’re wondering how to make the perfect thick Bengali Payesh using dairy product milk in Kolkata, we’ve got you covered. The good news? You don’t need to be a pro chef to ace this recipe! All you need is Keventer Metro Milk, some aromatic gobindobhog rice, and a handful of basic ingredients that are probably already in your kitchen.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

    • Keventer Metro Milk – 1 litre
    • Gobindobhog Rice – 50 grams (or any short-grain fragrant rice)
    • Sugar – 100 grams (adjust according to your sweetness preference)
    • Cardamom Pods – 3-4 (for that subtle aroma)
    • Bay Leaf – 1 (optional but recommended for an authentic touch)
    • Cashews and Raisins – A handful (to garnish and add texture)

Step-by-step Guide to Making Bengali Payesh:

    Step 1: Prep the Rice

Begin by washing the gobindobhog rice thoroughly. Once clean, soak the rice in water for about 15-20 minutes. This step ensures that the rice cooks evenly and absorbs the flavours beautifully.

    Step 2: Boil the Milk

Pour Keventer Metro Milk into a heavy-bottomed pan and heat it until it comes to a boil, stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking. Once it boils, lower the flame and let it simmer gently. The slow simmering is key to getting that rich, creamy texture.

    Step 3: Cook the Rice

Drain the soaked rice and add it to the simmering milk. Add a bay leaf and crushed cardamom pods to give the milk a delicate aroma. Stir gently to prevent the rice from clumping. Cook on low flame until the rice softens and blends smoothly with the milk.

    Step 4: Add sugar

Once the rice is cooked and the milk has reduced to a creamy consistency, add sugar to the mix. Stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.

    Step 5: Garnish and Serve

In a small pan, lightly toast the cashews and raisins until they’re golden brown. Add them to your Payesh as a garnish. This adds a delightful crunch and a burst of sweetness with every bite.

    Step 6: Cool and Relish

Payesh tastes heavenly when served chilled, but many prefer it warm. Let it cool down to your desired temperature, and then dig in!

    Tips for Perfect Payesh:

    • Always use the best dairy product milk in West Bengal – it gives you the best results. You can use Keventer Metro Milk to achieve that rich, creamy texture.
    • Stir frequently to prevent the milk from burning or sticking to the pan.
    • Adjust the sweetness to your taste by tweaking the sugar quantity.
    • If you want to go the extra mile, you can add a pinch of saffron for a royal touch.

The secret to an authentic Bengali Payesh lies in the quality of milk. Keventer Metro Milk is not just rich and creamy but also packed with the freshness and purity that enhances the overall flavour of your dish. Whether it’s a festive occasion or a simple craving, Keventer Metro Milk ensures that every spoonful of Payesh is a journey to culinary bliss.

In Bengal, this Tibetan delight is loved by most and during Durga Puja, every pandal will probably have at least three to four momo vendors within its premises. Post admiring the beauty of the architecturally brilliant, thematic pandal, and praying to the deity with utmost devotion, pandal hoppers throng to these momo stalls for a little snack break. However, the question arises, which one is the better momo: steamed or fried? What should you eat during Durga Puja?

When we talk of chicken momos, puritans would debate that the authentic version is always the steamed one. Needless to say, steamed chicken momos are often regarded as the healthier option and has a strong following among those who prioritise healthy eating without compromising on the flavour. The steaming process retains the natural flavours and moisture of the chicken filling, resulting in a light and succulent bite.

On the other hand, fried chicken momos offer an entirely different sensory experience. The crispy exterior provides a delightful crunch that contrasts beautifully with the soft filling. Besides, who can forget a Bengali’s indomitable love for fried food? The frying process allows for a richer flavour, often enhanced with spices that seep into the dough, creating a savoury treat that is hard to resist.

  • Indulging In The Classic Green Peas Khichuri During Durga Puja

Indulging In The Classic Green Peas Khichuri During Durga Puja

Is there any other festival that brings together the essence of tradition and culinary delights together, better than Durga Puja? Perhaps not! From Kosha Mangsho and Basanti Pulao, to Bhoger Khichuri, the ‘Petuk Bangali (Foodie Bengali)’ definitely knows how to make his or her most awaited festival of the year, special!

As the days of the festival unfold, the kitchens of Bengali homes become bustling hubs of activity. The aroma of spices fills the air as the holiday season brings a reason for the quintessential ‘Bangali’ to take a break from his or her otherwise hectic daily life and cook up a storm to satisfy the stomach and the heart, alike. Khichuri, the one-pot meal made from a blend of rice and lentils, finds a special place among Durga Puja recipes. This humble yet flavourful dish, especially when made with fresh green peas, adds a deliciously warm touch to the festivities.

Not all get a chance to drop into their ‘para (neighbourhood)’ pandal to feast on the Bhoger Khichuri (dish offered to the deity). Sometimes, even if there is a chance, people would rather give it a miss due to the scorching heat of Bengali afternoons. However, the occasion is such that without the Khichuri, Durga Puja celebrations seem incomplete. This is simply one of those Bengali dishes you can’t miss during Durga Puja!

The Bangali indulges himself or herself by making this Durga Puja special dish at home. Besides, the ‘Koraishuti/Matarshuti diye Khichuri (Peas Khichuri)’ is so easy to make that even a child can cook it! Into a pot goes a little bit of ghee. Once it turns hot, cumin seeds, bay leaves and dry red chillis are thrown in. Some ginger paste and chopped tomatoes follow suit, along with basic spices, and sugar and salt to taste.

A little simmering later, cups of water are poured in and some moong dal, chopped potatoes and Gobindobhog rice are added to the pot. The mixture is then boiled and when the ingredients are partially cooked, the green peas are added. Once cooked, teaspoonfuls of garam masala and oodles of ghee are added to the pot for the final touch.
