Over 125 years ago, Edward Keventer, a dreamer with a purpose, redefined the dairy industry in India. A visionary in agriculture and animal science, he pioneered cattle breeding, championed nutrition, and introduced pasteurised milk, which reshaped India’s dairy landscape.
Arriving in India in 1890, Edward Keventer brought cutting-edge dairy practices, fully prepared to mechanize, demonstrate, market and deploy the world’s first generation of modern dairy equipment. He emphasized cattle-breeding reforms and hygiene, introduced India’s first pasteurised milk, and blended science with entrepreneurship to establish a trusted name in dairy. He had quickly recognised the key to successful dairying:

From Sweden to India, his quiet revolution became a legacy that lives on in every Keventer product today. Edward Keventer stayed out of the spotlight, but the name he built lives on, echoing through generations.
In 1986, Keventer Agro Limited acquired Edward Keventer’s legacy. Fast forward to today, we’re building on that 130+ year foundation with modern FMCG transformation. Our purpose has gained momentum. First emerging with Metro, another iconic dairy brand, to form Keventer Metro and then diversifying into Realty with KeventerOne, and eventually, venturing into hospitality.
